Director of Basketball Performance

Ron "Coach Boo" Taylor

A basketball performance coach, trainer, and player-development leader with more than 15 years of experience developing athletes on and off the court.

His Story

Development. Discipline. Direction.

Ron "Coach Boo" Taylor is a basketball performance coach, trainer, and player-development leader with more than 15 years of experience developing athletes on and off the court. A former collegiate athlete, Coach Boo brings a comprehensive approach to player development that combines basketball skill development, performance training, film analysis, discipline, accountability, and individualized development.

Throughout his career, Coach Boo has trained, coached, and mentored athletes across multiple levels of competition, including collegiate and professional athletes. His approach goes beyond running workouts—he focuses on identifying gaps in an athlete's game, building individualized development plans, refining skills and decision-making, and preparing players to perform at increasingly competitive levels.

Coach Boo's philosophy is rooted in the belief that professional-level development requires more than talent. It requires intentional preparation, consistency, basketball IQ, physical and mental discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement. He works with athletes to strengthen those areas while helping them understand what is required to compete, develop, and advance at the next level.

As Director of Basketball Performance for 180 Elite Performance™, Coach Boo helps lead the organization's basketball development methodology, performance standards, athlete evaluations, training strategy, and individualized player-development programming. His work supports 180 Elite Performance's commitment to providing athletes with a structured development system that extends beyond individual workouts and into long-term performance development.

Outside of basketball, Coach Boo is a devoted husband, proud father of three, pastor, author, entrepreneur, and mentor. His faith and leadership background shape his commitment to developing the whole athlete—building character, confidence, discipline, leadership, and purpose alongside athletic performance.
